Honoured to have these in my living room for the past few days since receiving them at the British Cartographic Society Awards in Cambridge last week. Now to take the John C. Bartholomew Award in to the Steer office, and get the OS and 3D certificates to The Little Globe Co

Day 2: Lines This map uses ORR data like day 1 but highlights all +50km and more than 100k annual trips. Thanks to great colour and grouping choice its easy to see the story here (that most long distance journeys originate in London, but not all) #30DayMapChallenge #rail

Day 3: Polygons Something that has annoyed Geospatial Analysts since the dawn of time. If you know, you know... #30DayMapChallenge #data #cleanup #geography #boundaries #UK #Bristol

Day 22: North is not always up #30DayMapChallenge To support wayfinding, it is better to rotate the map to the way the user is facing, using landmarks to orientate themselves to the static map. In Brighton we delivered this map in several rotations to work around the hospital.

Steer's analysis clearly shows this higher percentage of Ages 65+ in coastal regions and the density of hospital dots more sparse, and in some instances completely missing, from those yellow areas across the East and South-East regions. #30DayMapChallenge #cartography #data

Day 30: Favourite #30DayMapChallenge Favourite time of the year. Who doesn’t love Christmas right? Clare made this for her son’s school fair. You have to guess where Santa dropped his presents!

Three generations 💙⚽️🤍 The Neal family and #PoshAtWembley2024 I couldn’t make it 10 years ago as Leo was only 3 days old! He came along today aged 10y and 11 days!

I’ll be at Esri UK Esri UK #esriukac this Tuesday in London, so please say Hi! I’m there to learn more about AGOL, but if you catch me during a break I can tell you about the BCS and cartography at Steer if you’re looking for #bettermapping either for yourself or for clients.
