National Trust members. Please remember to vote. It really matters. Institutions need public participation to keep them healthy and open and evolving to serve society.

Again, the National Trust did not secretly make its scones vegan. All recipes are published. The Daily Mail broke the ‘secret’ story 4 years after publishing our classic scone recipe, which doesn’t include butter, under the headline ‘truly scrumptious.’ telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/…

So the ‘woke’-bashing ⁦Mail+⁩ lays into ⁦National Trust⁩ again. For doing a bit more to tackle climate change. To be clear we are not banning meat or anything like it, just having a look at making some sensible reductions. RT or like if you stand with us.

For those asking, the ‘fierce backlash last night’ entailed two information requests to our press office. One from the Daily Mail and one from the Daily Telegraph. Please remember to vote in this year’s National Trust AGM.

I often join metal detecting pages on facebook to see the scale of looting ('legal' and otherwise) but sometimes I wish I didn't. This is happening *far* too often and there's no mechanism to stop it. What a ridiculous situation.

After another weekend of made-up media stories to undermine the National Trust, our boss is setting off on the #GreatNorthRun to fundraise for the cause. Her integrity is one of the main reasons public trust in the institution has grown so much in recent years.

#MosaicMonday in the flesh today! A lovely visit to the brilliant Corinium Museum (highly recommend!), on our way to a much-needed spa break in the Cotswolds!
