A great star has moved from the stage to the heavens with the passing of Christa Ludwig. She only appeared once on the @sfopera stage, pictured here with Helen Donath in 1971 in a Rosenkavalier we treasure in our legacy. I’m finding consolation in her Mahler 2 recordings.
