Newly announced DETER/INPE deforestation data for the Brazilian Amazon (Aug 2023 to July 2024) shows a huge decline in annualized rates compared to previous years, specially in deforestation hotspots (70 counties), but this still amounts to 431,476 ha (=604,818 soccer pitches)!
