DT in Year 6 2/2 As always, huge thanks to Primary D&T for her brilliant input that helps the children with their creations. Y6 parents are invited to an after school session this Thursday and to view our finished fairground rides on Monday in our DT exhibition in school.

A big thank you to our Y3 families who visited for our parent/child after school DT session this evening. We hope everyone enjoyed it.

A very busy morning in Y6 today. Firstly, we were very grateful for Mrs Mayhew giving up her time, she visited us to talk about the different parts of the heart and their functions in our body. We looked at some sheep’s hearts to get a better understanding.

We are now busily painting our DT creations that we started on Tuesday, in preparation for our school exhibition next Monday. 🎨👩‍🎨👨‍🎨

Reception have been comparing sizes this week in maths. They have used mathematical language to describe if things are shorter, longer, taller or wider. They have compared amounts and described how they know the size of something! #eyfs #maths

Year 2 have had lots of fun designing and making 3D rainforest animals. We made really cool Macaws, a type of parrot.

Year 1 love their lessons with Mr Moffatt in the computer room! Today we were playing games to help us find letters on the keyboard

Year 3 created their own Pointillism artwork to finish off this topic.

Year 5 The boys had a fantastic day out at Birkenhead School taking part in a Tag Rugby tournament. A really fun time was topped off by a championship winning performance 🥇 👏

A VERY busy hall for our Y6 / Y6 parent DT session with Primary D&T after school today, making treehouses. 👍👏🙌

Year 5 A great day was also had by our girls who participated so well in the Birkenhead School Primary Netball Competition. They made an excellent team and had so much fun ⛹🏻‍♀️🏀⭐️

We loved our House Team session last week, when children from across the school gathered together in their house teams to design and make a shield for their house. We are proud to present the winning designs which will be on display in the hall soon. 🔴🔵🟡🟢

Y4 have been looking at the weather around the tropics and then presenting their own weather reports.

What a fabulous afternoon with Steph. Year 4 made their own torches in DT week

Reception received a very important letter this morning from Dr Pawsome from Carleton House Vets. His sick friend Mr Teddy Bear needed cheering up with a Teddy Bear picnic. We organised the picnic, wrote a list, drew some teddy bear pictures and had a lovely time together!

Well done to our year 2 boys who took part in #lssp football all this morning. The boys developed their teamwork and enjoyed their morning in the sun

Year 2 have been investigating in Science, how exercise affects our bodies and heart rate.

Year 1 watched a cafod video about Laudato Si’. Pope Francis wrote a letter to everybody on Earth to protect the Earth- God’s gift to us. We drew posters to let people know ways they could help look after our planet.
