Opening Day Team Announcement #7: The Horsemen upped their floor this winter with the additions of Schules & Britton. The team now has plenty of lineup & pitching options when at full strength to go with a quality number one starter in Haloskey.

Opening Day Team Announcement #8: The 2023 Opening Day tournament champions enter the 2025 iteration with a roster that earned them a top 4 finish at last year’s World Championship Tournament.

Opening Day Team Announcement #9: The Stompers will be looking to get 2025 off to a good start after a relatively mediocre 2024 season. After making his Stomper debut at the WCT last fall, former Goonie Andrius Fink will suit up for the team in MAW for the first time this May.

Opening Day Team Announcement #10: The 2018 NWLA Tournament champs - participants now in 7 of 9 MAW seasons - return to Opening Day with their with their usual core 3. The Waves pitchers can struggle with consistency but when they are throwing strikes this a tough team to beat.

After reviewing both the demand for and the ability to accommodate more teams, MAW officials have expanded the Opening Day Tournament to 24 teams! Register now as while spots remain. If we do not hit 24, any teams who registered after 20 will be issued a full refund.

Team Announcement #11: The 3x Mid Atlantic champions are running back their same roster from 2024. Few teams can match ERL’s offense and with three pitchers that can throw anytime in the tournament, they will be one of the tournament favorites on Opening Day.

Opening Day Team Announcement #12: SoCal returns for their 2nd straight Opening Day, with their core 4 that won last year’s MLW WITM tournament and finished top 24 at the WCT. The additions of MAW veterans Stengel & Torres turn this already talented team into a title contender.

Opening Day Team Announcement #13: The Dinos grinded their way through 2024, ultimately finishing with a very good 13-11 record. They return their core for Opening Day while adding McDowell, who they hope can reduce some of the pitching burden that has fallen on Caladie.

Opening Day Team Announcement #14: This new-look NWL squad includes 5 players who will be making their MAW debuts in May. This team may lack major tournament experience, but they have plenty of other wiffleball experience and are high in upside.

Opening Day Team Announcement #15: The Cajuns took the top seed in the elimination round at last year’s season opener en route to a top 4 finish. They are without Randy Dalbey this year but have more than enough weapons to reach Sunday. Keep an eye on newcomer Tommy Hernandez.

Opening Day Team Announcement #16: After a one year absence, the Dark Knights return to MAW Opening Day, competing in the 2nd overall MAW tournament. The Knights went 18-11 last year during the GSWL Yard regular season and finished in 4th place overall.

Opening Day Team Announcement #17: The hometown Yaks are turning over much of their roster, but will still be anchored by MAW & Yak cornerstone, Jarod Bull. Sturgill - the one non-York native on the team - showed some promise in one MAW tournament in 2024 playing for Jump Truck.

Opening Day Team Announcement #18: The champs are unlikely to play a full schedule this summer as they rehab from lingering injuries, but they expect to be at full strength for the opener. Chase Oliver joins his TC35 teammate Luke Richter to round out the Juggs’ roster.
