If a child makes a bad choice it doesn't mean that they are a bad child. Do not label the child...instead correct the behavior and give the child an opportunity to make it right.

Public schools are not failing students. Public school teachers are not failing students. The system is failing public schools, teachers and students. Stop saying public schools and teachers are failing students when the system is setting them up to fail.

It makes me nervous to see more funding for tutors without knowing how they will all be trained/deployed. I have recommended this FREE, low-prep, science-aligned resource to many tutors who are working on foundational reading skills with kids: opensourcephonics.org

The amount of change in this "catch up" plan is underwhelming.

Rearranging my headspace for the return to school. Very excited for my subjects this semester, but even more excited to be meeting my professors for the first time! Good luck to everyone on their new endeavors this school year!

Another end of a placement. My last placement with children at that. Very sad, but I'm sure I will continue working with children in some capacity in the future. As my final day I wanted to bring some extra cheer for the holiday season. Merry Christmas!
