So much misinformation around floating wind turbine foundations. This technology is ready to go and can be deployed in Irish waters. All we need is a government with ambition, long term vision and a self addressed envelope. Lisa Chambers Val Cummins windfloat-atlantic.com/windfloat-atlaโ€ฆ

If you care about your area, environmental law, *democracy* itself, you should be outraged at the silent, deadly coup happening in the Dรกil next week in the form of the Planning Bill. More BS from the wind lobby group claiming wind energy is cheap. This is a false narrative based around a flawed electricity market structure. Wind energy will cost the state and consumers a fortune. Please be realistic. irishexaminer.com/business/econoโ€ฆ

โ€œthe SC-DMAP appears to be primarily and merely a prioritisation exercise for selecting technically and economically attractive sites for ORE developers without balanced consideration for existing maritime activities, particularly fishingโ€

Every step to safeguard nature in the face of near shore wind โ€˜gold rushโ€™ by energy players has been set aside. No SEA. No site selection oversight. Instead, gov rubber stamped inappropriate sites by giving MACs, 45 yr site occupation, with no env assess or public participation.

This adds a serious legal problem to the very long list of reasons why this Bill should NOT be railroaded through its upcoming stages in the Seanad.

We can do it but some people in Dept. Environment, Climate and Communications have decided that floating is not ready to deploy off the Irish coast. Also rumours that floating will be similar price to fixed by 2035. South coast DMAP could be so much more... AfloatMagazine Catherine Connolly Coastal Concern Alliance

Notice to all Gannets: Please fly below 30 meters to avoid instant death resulting from offshore turbine blade collisions. Notice to all seabirds: Don't look or smile at photographers. Italian government aligns with turbine manufacturer and developer aiming to produce wind turbines in Italy supporting the development of a 2.8GW floating wind project. This represents over half of Ireland's 2030 target. Now that's ambition! Shannon Foynes Port Matt Shanahan TD (Ind) ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ
