I so needed that kick in the pants that Annie Hartnett gave at her talk yesterday at #muse24 — get back to your routine, you're probably not a genius but that's ok, find the joy of writing again.

What a great time at #muse24! Met some lovely new writer friends, saw some old friends, gave a talk on endings, saw my books for sale, felt re-affirmed in the wonderful community that is the writer community.

Writing and approaching the ending of an ugly draft, I have at least three versions of the ending and they're all in a horse race in my heart.

I've begun my big classic read of the year, Les Miserables, and so far it's a surprisingly funny, rollicking read, far more adventurous and interesting than I expected. It's going to be a good year for reading!
