The 18-month-wait is over. I just learned my late father from the former USSSR has a 127-page FBI file. I can't wait to see it. I heard he was part of a NASA project as an electrical engineer so this could be an interesting read. Stay tuned!

My great grandmother was an alcoholic. When I researched her life, I discovered abject poverty and multiple catastrophic, unprocessed losses. No wonder she self-medicated. #FamilyHistory #Genealogy #Psychology #Depression #Bereavement

Happy bonfire night from Wexford :) St John’s Eve, June 23rd, was traditionally marked by the construction of large bonfires in the Irish countryside. Theses were the focal point of communal festivities, people gathered to dance & sing, while young men leaped through the flames

I've just discovered I have the new Pro Tool DNA matches tool on #Ancestry . Oh my word, I'm not going to start playing now (at 9.03pm) but this looks so useful. #DNA #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

An absolutely fabulous job by 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥, Christy Kirwan and Martin Parfrey who organised this year's #Bessborough commemoration. Was honoured to be a speaker again reading out the new names of 29 people that Project Infant volunteers found. Footage to follow.

A useful review article looking at the history of forensic genetics and the move to SNPs. Includes interesting observations about the Carla Walker case which set a precedent for the admissibility of genetic genealogy evidence in court. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… #Forensics
