Tricky wording/ballot candy on MO Amendment 7, Nov 2024. Non-citizen non-voting is there to get kneejerk yes votes without noticing what its' really for. It's for banning us from having elections on if we want ranked voting. Vote no!

Over 50 U.S. localities use ranked voting, and exit polls show voters find it easy and are happy with it. MO should be in on this, but our legislatures put Amendment 7 on the ballot to BAN it. Vote no!

We call the campaign committee against MO Amendment 7 this Nov "Preserve Local Elections" because the amendment would ban one kind of local election - do we want ranked voting?

When putting Amendment 7 on, Missouri legislators suggest voters would be confused. They have less confidence in Missouri voters compared to those in other parts of the country. Never fear - our exit surveys show otherwise. Vote no!

When putting Amendment 7 on, Missouri legislators suggest voters would be confused. But if voters are confused, they'll vote against using it. So what's the problem? Why should we actually BAN having the elections at all? Vote no!

All poli parties benefit from ranking. In their primaries, it would get them the candidate with majority support from their party, one who can attract 2nd and 3rd rankings, a better candidate to send to the general election. But MO Amendment 7 would ban this. Vote no!

MO Amendment 7 says explicitly that candidates with a plurality wins. No majority needed. The majority might even be against candidates, but in they go. Why vote for an explicitly anti-majority measure? Vote no!

For those who don't know if they like ranked voting, you don't have to decide about that to vote no on MO Amendment 7. You only have to want voters to be able to have the debate and decide. Am 7 would ban that.

Do you prefer approval voting, or star, or cumulative, or top-4 to ranking? Amendment 7 would ban them all. We can argue later about which one is better. We need to stop Am 7 in Nov to be able to have any of them.

Studies show candidates of color benefit with the rounds of ranking, and have less splitting up of the vote. Voters of color are more likely to rank more candidates. MO Amendment 7 would ban ranked voting. Vote no!

The GOP in Aug had MO Sec of State win with less than 1/4 of the vote & most won without majorities. So they don't know that they selected best candidates, and they don't know who the majority supports. Ranking would solve that, but they want to ban it with Amendment 7. Vote no!

Tired of mudslinging? Experience shows there's less of it under ranked voting. The incentive changes: a candidate who wants to get the 2nd rankings won't insult the other candidate so much. MO Amendment 7 is the legislature asking us to ban ranking. Vote no!

In MO Amendment 7 this Nov, its ban doesn't apply to St. Louis, since they already have approval voting. So they want to let one city have it and ban the rest of us. Vote no!

Tired of voting for the "lesser evil"? With ranked voting, you can select who you want first, and consider electability in your lower rankings. But the legislature wants us to vote to ban this with MO Amendment 7. Vote no!

MO Amendment 7 would prevent military folks from using ranked voting in their absentee ballots, as some other states allow. Ranking is a real help to those overseas. Why deprive them of even asking for it? Vote no!

Better Ballot KC (@betterballotkc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

How do we have "the consent of the governed" if candidates commonly win with less than half the vote? Ranking means majority support to win, so more democracy. MO Amendment 7 says to ban it. Vote no!

While 5 states are voting in Nov to adopt ranked voting, the MO legislature wants us to vote to BAN it. They want us to go against a positive trend. Vote no!
