The Salem State University baseball team came to Carlton today! Players visited classrooms and read to all of our students and then answered questions! What a great experience for all!

Today was our annual winter band concert! E2 band players did an excellent job! We are so proud!

On Tuesday, Carlton students worked together with their reading buddy classes to build marshmallow towers! Teamwork makes the dream work! The tallest tower was 17 inches tall. So fun...and sticky!

Happy Monday! What better way to kick off our annual Snowball Slam than with a special visit from author & illustrator, Jarrett Lerner! Mr. Lerner gave our Carlton students an inside look at story writing & illustrating!

Spirit Week (Day 1): On Monday, we worked in our buddy classrooms to write letters to Big Papi explaining why he should come to Carlton on Red Sox Opening Day! Do you think our amazing writers will convince him to make a visit?

Spirit Week (Day 2): On Tuesday, athletes from the SHS Basketball Team came to read "I Promise" by Lebron James to classes! After listening to the story and asking some questions to the players, students got to shoot some hoops with our special guests! 🏀🏀🏀

Spirit Week (Day 3): Carlton the Monkey visited P1 and P2 classrooms and read with students! It was so fun to read our favorite books with our favorite monkey!

Mayor McCarthy was invited for a ‘Literacy Celebration’ at the Carlton Innovation School and read a book to the class about his own nephew called, “Super Brady: A Story of Inclusion.” The children loved the reading session and loved asking questions, too. 📚

Over the course of the final weeks of our annual Snowball Slam, we’ve had the pleasure of listening to some of our favorite community members read us some wonderful books! We are one lucky school!

Spirit Week (Day 4): Thursday was Drop-Everything-And-Read & pajama day at Carlton! It was so fun to read in our cozy pajamas at school!

Spirit Week (Day 5): Today was "Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher"/"Twin" Day! Carlton students and staff had a BLAST!

Today marks the end of our Spirit Week and the SNOWBALL SLAM! Carlton School students read a grand total of 62,894 books or chapters over the course of the last six weeks and we could not be more proud of our community of dedicated readers! We celebrated BIG with a slush party!
