πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ What a guy Andy Murray is. Thoroughly enjoyed watching him for the final time, he had us all hoping. His passion and fight is admirable and what an inspiration and advocate for tennis. An incredible career πŸ‘ πŸ‘

Please RT: how does your school/org ensure that teachers have access to PD that builds: - curriculum knowledge - subject knowledge - subject-specific pedagogical practice?

I think it’s fair to say that come September safeguarding teams, in light of this summer, will be busy & a lot of assemblies, tutor times etc will be key. But schools alone cannot change everything.

In Preston, where rumours and calls for a protest this evening have solely produced a counter-protest so far. Their message: It’s hope, not hate, in our city.

A great thread on how workload and wellbeing can promoted by ACTIONS and not just a nice coffee machine in the staff room. Some easy ideas for implementation from MR FLETCHER πŸ‘ #edutwitter

What are your top tips for line managing as an SLT link to subject leads (especially those you are not a subject expert in)? I’m thinking logistics (standing items on agenda) and the wider stuff…

Absolutely love Andrew Flintoff’s Field of Dreams. Fantastic to see him being so honest, discussing his mental health as well as providing such a great opportunity for those Preston lads! Hope all of them stay and see it through #FieldOfDreams

If there’s a real desire to address the workload of leaders then one area would be to put GCSE/Post 16 results in the same week &/or into term time. Every summer they rip out 2 weeks of the break - perhaps not in school but in terms of headspace.

I wonder how long it will be before there’s an article about a school upholding it’s uniform expectations at the start of the academic year & how a parent sent their child in anything but the actual uniform & don’t like the school’s response.

Happy first day teachers! Good luck everyone! I’m sure like many others I barely slept last night, nerves of a new school, new children and new routines. But we’ve got this πŸ’ͺ🏼 #edutwitter

Really enjoyed my first day today at a new school! I delivered an INSET session on Strategic Investment: From Procedure to Routine, De-Escalation in the classroom and introduced some tweaks to line ups using Sam Strickland’s The Behaviour Manual. #EduTwitter #Pastoral

THREAD: How do you get cultural alignment around behaviour? It is often stated that staff having the same norms and values around behaviour is crucial to running great schools. But how do you get it? I now work in a school that is incredibly aligned (COLA Shoreditch Park).
