This narrative of only being successful in academia if you work yourself into the ground and have no other focus in your life benefits no one. Can we all stop it now, please? /end.

To all those posting 'this is not us', please take some time to consider how you're framing this event and how that might sound from the perspectives of people who regularly experience that yes, this IS who we are, far too often. 1/2

Devastated to hear of the passing of Geoffrey Tassie. His lifelong committment to Egyptian archaeology, especially prehistory, will be remembered. As will his kindness and generosity. RIP Mr Tass

Claiming "PC gone mad" is the "politically correct" way of justifying racism, sexism, bigotry, ignorance and intolerance. It's an argument for those without an argument. Say what you mean, and be prepared to own your words.

#youknowme Where are are the MEN? Many make this choice with their partners. Many men pay for abortions, some force women to get them, and some men make thoughtful decisions about family planning. Why is this a “women’s” issue? Be courageous, MEN, and tell your stories too!

What's happening at Ihumātao highlights the issues with our heritage legislation (amongst many other things!). More people need to be aware of this, not just HNZPT, but other other legislation on heritage.
