As part of our Women's Month celebration, we're proud to spotlight Becca Thomas Thomas (ARB), Creative Director of New Practice, RIAS Council Member, and appointee to the Glasgow Urban Design Panel.
Heart goes out to Rose Marie Burke & John Newman, parents of Emma Burke Newman. 3 people have been killed on bikes by HGV drivers minutes from where I live, and I survived a similar incident. Politicians must prioritise and invest in #VisionZero - no more excuses. Pedal On Parliament

Cllr Holly Bruce 2027 UCI Cycling Worlds Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc LEAP Sports Scotland To coincide with 2027 UCI Cycling Worlds Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc and in memory of our friend and colleague, Emma Burke Newman, who was killed in a road traffic incident in January 2023 in Glasgow, we are launching *Waiting to Happen* today. You can find out more: bitly.ws/Q2ba #WaitingToHappen
As elite cyclists come to Glasgow for UCI World Championships, a safety drive's been launched in memory of a young woman killed on her bike. Emma Burke Newman died in January after a collision on the Broomielaw. The 22 Y/O's colleagues at New Practice say she's much missed.
People who live & travel in Glasgow are being asked to give feedback on three key junctions as part of New Practice's Waiting To Happen campaign to improve active travel safety. (link here: new-practice.co.uk/waiting-to-hap…) Creative director Becca Thomas sets out why they were chosen.
Becca Thomas The Waiting To Happen campaign is aiming to improve road safety for pedestrians & cyclists. New Practice's Becca Thomas says Glasgow's network is improving, but still needs work. She says Cllr Holly Bruce's proposals about reporting near misses could make a huge difference.
If you cycle between Glasgow South and the city centre then please share your thoughts with New Practice's cycling safety initiative 'Waiting to Happen'. Data will be presented to Glasgow City Council’s Active Travel committee >>

Positive impact on the community should be the result of paid work, not some extra bit on the side! And everything Kyle Buchanan says...
