I think the NSF GRFP excludes many diverse & underrepresented scholars by disqualifying those with Masters. Attaining a PhD requires resources and privileges that many may not have access to straight outta undergrad. I remember feeling surprised when I learned about this rule.

In a recent study, researchers highlight the benefits of a culturally sensitive afterschool program for Latine immigrant youth. The youth noted that the program benefited them socially, culturally, and psychologically. These spaces are crucial for our immigrant youth.

🚨 In a new article with my UMN Psychology colleagues, we found that police intrusion (e.g., racial slurs, stop-and-frisks), which on average occurred at age 13, was associated with more epigenetic age acceleration at age-15, controlling for age-9 epigenetic age acceleration.
