At Hikma Agro Services Ltd, Tamale, Ghana, staff of the seed company and CSIR-SARI were trained by PROSSIVA @ IITA on using leaf-bud cuttings for seed yam production.

Research on and production of early generation seeds of farmer-preferred yam varieties are priorities at CSIR-SARI, Tamale, in collaboration with PROSSIVA ⁦IITA⁩. Yam farmers eagerly await being supplied with quality seeds to boost production.

The CSIR-CRI Yam team in Kumasi is making significant progress in cleaning and multiplying registered yam landraces to feed Ghana’s seed system with quality seeds. PROSSIVA ⁦IITA⁩ backs this effort by providing technical support and cleaned planting materials.
