📢 Just released in @JORSpine! Study on the #biomechanics behind adult spinal deformity #ASD surgeries, exploring the posterior ligamentous complex #PLC to understand prox junct kyphosis #PJK and junctional failure. #spine Find all here: doi.org/10.1002/jsp2.1… ORS Spine Section

The health and mechanics of the posterior ligamentous complex can predict proximal junctional kyphosis after spinal fusion in adult spinal deformity. Our pub in Journal of Orthopaedic Research - Spine® found that stiffer, longer, and thinner ligaments contribute to risk of failure. doi.org/10.1002/jsp2.1…

Excited that this paper finally came out in ⁦Journal of Orthopaedic Research - Spine®⁩! It took several years and a lot of amazing collaborators! Paraspinal muscle biopsies in those with lumbar pathology after acute exercise didn’t show the expected muscle growth response. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38222805/
