There is this subtle cringiness that comes from protestants and I guess it overflows to the eo converts too, that makes them say things like this. It's not the truthness of his message, rather the means of delivery and the setting (on a public setting to a very large audience)

Quite a picture painted here by the author (British I presume) of the last hours before Haile Silassie left Ethiopia during the war. But one name caught my attention: "Ayena Birru". If I'm not mistaken, he is the man who created the Amharic typewriter...

Sadam Hussain once said this to the US, "سنُذلّ أمريكا كما أُذلّ الأحباش يوم الفيل." “We will humble America as the Abyssinians were humbled in the Year of the Elephant.” He did not humble the Abyssinians (Ethiopia) nor was he able to do that to the USA. But we need to remember

One of the people in the Frankfurt School, Theodore Adorno, had a book explaining exactly this. How pop music is a form that came from decaying classical music, and that each successive forms of pop were more and more decayed forms. It's titled "Intro to sociology of music".

Habibi come to Ethiopia😂😂😂 As someone who grew up getting spanked like this, I say it is actually a good way to raise kids. It teaches them to respect people, know their place, and behave well consciously, learn how the world really works, and have thick skin (no pun).
