Every few days, I feel like I’m paying tribute to a different musician who left us too soon. Thank you for “Nightmare Logic”, Riley Gale. rollingstone.com/music/music-ne…

Those “maintain 6 feet” stickers on the floor are there for a reason, people. If you stand behind yours, you are standing too close to the person behind you.

Just heard LOW 's "Just Like Christmas" on a Giant grocery store ad during Thursday Night Football. Now that's a holiday tune I love to hear!

I usually like to watch all the NFL firings on Black Monday, but I’m not sad to see Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn go in the middle of this season. Thank you Detroit Lions for committing to a change for the future!

Nice to hear @BMitchliveNBCS give a shout out to chemical engineering today; I had the opposite experience: wanted to play football but they don’t allow girls on the team so I settled for a career in ChemE.

More than ever, Twitter is a public square. For that reason, it is imperative that elected officials do not block those with whom they disagree. That's why I decided to file a lawsuit. Read more here: gerstein-harrow.com/blog/fighting-…

I’m in a waiting room, and someone is knitting. I have a small pang of nostalgia for my own knitting, until another woman starts talking her ear off about projects she has knit (incl details about her needles). Nope, I do not miss random strangers talking to me about knitting.

It’s in the 20s here, and a family just asked me, “are you from Alaska???” when they saw me outside shoveling in just a t-shirt. I love this weather.

Rest easy, Mark Lanegan. Thank you for your devastating voice and decades of music, especially those three albums with Isobel Campbell. washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content…

Rest easy, Jean-Luc Godard. You were questionable and cranky, but you made some incredible (and incredibly influential) films. nytimes.com/2022/09/13/obi…

Stephen Thompson I asked my friend Catherine Lewis, who ran Low's first website, babysat Mimi and Alan's kids and was a concert photographer back in the day, to send us an intimate moment to use. Her photo is quiet in a way that hit me very hard.

I’m still devastated that Mimi Parker is gone, but I was honored to have been asked by NPR to share a photo for their coverage: npr.org/2022/11/07/113…

I haven’t worked for Pitchfork since before the Condé Nast sale— a lifetime ago, but today’s news still hit me hard. I had a decade of hard work and great friendships there, and today I hold on to fond memories of festivals, copy-editing the P4k 500, and debates on Staffington.
