The last crop of strawberries for the year. Most won’t make it past the hard freeze that’s coming this week. But the plants need the winter’s rest before the can make more beautiful berries again next year.

My beautiful lunch grown right here in that field 🥹 Homegrown turkeys with a beet root and beet green salad. Next year it will have our own home grown goat cheese. Still can’t believe we get to do this.

Daddy, do you think I’m the luckiest girl in the world for finding a 4-leaf clover? No, Ruby. We’re Presbyterian. We don’t believe in luck. What I believe is that before God created the universe, He ordained to bless you with finding a 4-leaf clover because he loves you so much.

My dog snuck and buried chicken heads all throughout my garden on Saturday while we butchered them. Now every morning she goes out and digs one up for breakfast. Nature is cool. Gross. But cool.

It’s been a busy few months on the farm. You’d think winter would slow everything down. It does, but not much. In husbandry, the animals always need care and rabbit season is busiest when it’s cold.
