I really enjoyed writing this. Logic and number puzzles are my favourite. It's not simple though, can you solve it? All Puzzle of the Week puzzles are completely free and if you register (for free) your school can compete against over 300 other schools around the world!

Hello Twitter, it's been 2 years. I've been hibernating, waiting for the world to become a little more accommodating for freelance maths educators. Speaking to @alisonkiddle, Frances Watson, James Grime and Andrew Jeffrey recently though, it seems to be getting better out there...

This diagram forms part of a puzzle I was writing today. On its own I think the image is dying for questions to be asked about it.

There's over 120 free puzzles in the Puzzle Library. I've spent a lot of time over the past 6 years writing detailed solutions with extensions and further reading. It's a great problem solving resource for teachers or anyone who likes solving puzzles. puzzleoftheweek.com/puzzle-library

Happy pi-day everyone! As beautiful as pi may be I deliberately never use it in puzzleoftheweek.com puzzles to limit required curriculum knowledge. There's still some interesting geometry in this week's puzzle though...

I made these diagrams manually for a puzzle I wrote recently. Can anyone recommend some software for drawing solids that would do this quickly? Is GeoGebra my best bet?

It was a pleasure to deliver a remote talk to 400 students from Koç Okulu in Turkey today. We discussed creativity in maths and creating your own questions. Hopefully I'll be able to use some of their students' questions for Puzzle of the Week next year!

Blame my friend Paula for how ridiculous this puzzle sounds. I wrote the problem and then promised her she could choose any theme she wanted...

The inspiration for this week's Puzzle of the Week came from the brilliant NRICH maths game 'American Billions'. @alisonkiddle and Charlie made a great video about it for Maths Week London. Divisibility tests, strategic thinking and creativity all in one. nrich.maths.org/mathsweeklondon
