Almost at the end of this legislative session but Governor Sununu vetoed our House/Senate budget that provided substantial increases for education, mental health, environmental and health funding for the citizens of NH. As my four year old granddaughter says “Time for a vote”.

My 4 year old granddaughter wants to meet a Presidential candidate. She is politically astute but says that “grandpa is the President of NH” so there is still work to be done. Her question for the candidate. Will you make sure that poor people have food. Listen to the children.

All adult ed. graduations should include an award to each graduate who is a registered voter and pledges to vote in all elections in 2020. Art Ellison, NH House Education Committee.

Off to NY for a family visit, back for knee replacement surgery then onto the business of overriding some of the 53 vetoes from our Republican Governor who thinks government should work for the few, not the many.

Back to work in the legislature next week moving bills on adult ed. ,raising the minimum wage, getting guns out of schools and finding the elusive solution to adequately fund our K-12 system. All while we focus on the political change that must come in Nov.

A giant step forward on a long road. We need to celebrate these victories.
