Believe it or not, The National Pediatric Trauma Registry reports that ALMOST HALF of all winter sports injuries are head injuries. Protect children from TBI, disability, & possible death by having them wear a fitted helmet when sledding, ice skating, playing hockey, or skiing.

Coats in Car Seats: What’s Best For Toddlers? Bulky coats can jeopardize a snug fit in a car seat harness. Dress your child in layers and put a coat on over a correctly fitted harness for added warmth! ☺#CarSeatSafety

nhtsagov shows .02% drop in traffic deaths through the first 9 months of 2022. Good that recent spikes in fatalities slow, but traffic deaths are still unacceptably high. We are committed to working w/NHTSA, NTSB & others to make sure ALL kids are safe. nhtsa.gov/press-releases…

Belief: that dresser took two adults to move, so it won’t tip over Truth: even heavy furniture can fall over if weight is applied in the right place (#ThanksPhysics) Securing furniture to the wall will keep it upright if your kids climb it, keeping everyone safer. #AnchorIt

When learning how to ride a bike or break in a new set of rollers skates, kids are going to have falls. BUT did you know that you can teach your child to fall safely? 🩹 #FallSafety #InjuryPrevention

No matter the time of year, pedestrian safety tips should always be clear! Especially when the conditions outdoors may be cold and icy, take extra caution when crossing roads. It might be hard for drivers to see you playing if they have snowy or frosty windows. #WinterSafety

This is a reminder that even as the days get colder, NEVER begin to warm up your car in the garage; it can expose you to CO poisoning. Warming in the garage can allow the odorless, colorless gas to seep into your home with levels high enough to cause problems. #PoisonPrevention

It's good for kids to spend some time outside, even in winter. Set reasonable time limits on outdoor play to prevent hypothermia and frostbite. And remember to have children come inside periodically to warm up! #WinterSafety
