No, this doesn’t make any sense. DC prohibited city contractors from giving political $ to the same people that approve their contracts for a reason. Allowing contractors to bundle cash is bad for our government & bad for our politics. I don’t support this roll back.

Interesting: Mayor Muriel Bowser is hosting a roundtable discussion this morning with some restaurant owners and workers on her proposed repeal of Initiative 82, which slowly phases out the tipped wage in D.C.

Quick guide to restaurant economics: For every $ you make: 35% labor (incl taxes and benefits) 25% cogs(product) 8-12% rent Ops 3% Repairs 2% Utilities 4% Admin 2% Insurance 1.5% Marketing 1.5% Misc 4% Profit = 12% which isn’t profit till investment paid off.

Tune in to ChairmanMendelson.com/live for my press conference at 11am about the tentative proposal to develop the land at the RFK campus and would include a football stadium. The proposal vastly improves on the previous agreement made by the Executive. Here's a look at the details

Ironically, the D.C. Council uses emergency legislation as often as it does because Congress takes so long to review the council's legislation, sometimes months.

AG Brian Schwalb (@dcattorneygen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Administration’s actions are unprecedented, unnecessary, and unlawful. There is no crime emergency in the District of Columbia. Violent crime in DC reached historic 30-year lows last year, and is down another 26% so far this year. We are considering all of our options and

1/ This Admin wants to force the DC Police Department into immigration enforcement - a direct assault on DC's sanctuary city law and, more importantly, DC's values. This Commission says NO! We stand firmly against this unlawful action and support AG Brian Schwalb's lawsuit to block it.

2/ We passed this resolution earlier this year, affirming DC values, to say our neighbors are not pawns in this Admin's extreme, xenophobic, and un-American agenda. DC is a proud Sanctuary City, and #ColumbiaHeightsDC is a proud racially/ethnically diverse community. #HandsOffDC

I love the spirit of DC. Its people are passionate, we are involved, and we speak up loudly when we've been wronged.   Nothing and no one can convince us we don't deserve all the rights and privileges of Americans who happen to live across a state line.

This reporting is frustratingly without context and fails to mention that the Council of DC is in recess. All Council members have issued statements or made media appearances, and they/their staff have been responsive to constituent calls for information and support, as well as
