Running an ordination on some community data- I don't know what Procrustes means and at this point I'm too afraid to ask.

Samples dropped off this morning! Can we get good enough quality and quantity for metatrancriptomics? I'm doubtful but time will tell!

At the barber today and he asked me if I go to school in Madison. I said yes, and then he followed up by asking what grade I was in- as he was cutting my head full of graying, Ph.D. related hair 😅

Trying to figure out coverage based rarefaction with #iNext in R- lots of examples given where you are comparing two groups/treatments with a single collection event, but I can't wrap my brain around how to handle data sourced from multiple collection events! Any advice?

Hello Science Twitter! I do still exist, and am doing lots of fun metagenomics things. On that note, I was wondering how I might be able to retrieve the entire taxonomic hierarchy for a list (~2000) of organisms. There seems to be an R package (taxize) but it seems broken :(
