A month late but my first #ACP2024 was a blast! Got to teach POCUS (with some past Penn Ultrasound fellows!), attend interesting lectures and workshops, and spend time with my future Duke GIM family! Now on board for Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM)! See you soon again Boston!

And we’re backkkk! Last conference of the season at #SGIM24, and I ended up finding an unused POCUS ribbon to add to my badge! Also playing this fun #SGIMSpotTheYeti game. I say it’s for my child but secretly wouldn’t mind it for myself. Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM)

✅ Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) POCUS pre-course led by Mike Wagner and Rob Smola! Had so much fun helping teach POCUS to interested physicians. I knew about the 5 P’s but look how many more there are! A break for tomorrow but catch us at the POCUS interest group meeting on Friday for more!

An amazing session on junior faculty development at #SGIM24 as I prepare for next year! Key takeaways on cultivating your mission statement, finding your “mastery”, and the risk of saying yes (and that it’s ok to say no to cool opportunities).

Got up bright and early for the Parenting in Medicine round table. Love that there are these panels at #SGIM24. A great quote by Rebekah Gardner, MD on balancing work opportunities and parenting- “Saying no to something is saying yes to family”

Ended #SGIM24 on a high! Spoke about what I love at the POCUS interest group meeting- Fellowship! (but also resources to learn POCUS without one). Obviously had to shout out Penn Ultrasound 💖 Overall, met a ton of great people and learned so much! See you next year Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM)!

Finished my last inpatient shift (ever!!). Hard dispositions, frustrated patients, and an unexpected code led to the most physically and emotionally draining weekend in a while. Grateful for the colleagues that supported me despite me thinking I was “ok”. Will miss this team. 💖
