The last three years of my teaching career, my principal never entered my room while I was teaching. Not once. That disrespect was a factor in my decision to leave teaching. Good teachers welcome insights and want others to know what they are trying.

I wish those Hoosiers who work hard to defeat school referendums would work that hard to defeat GOP lawmakers who create the need for schs to run those referendums. The GOP’s school funding playbook of funneling monies away from public schs is not good for kids or taxpayers.

And remember that it’s not just Catholic schools that get the money. Vouchers become the dominant source of revenue for *churches* that run those schools. It’s mandatory tithing for taxpayers—and it’s entirely the point.
