Students School 3 Belleville in Ms.Abreus 4th Grade Class Grade Math classes kicked off âBuilding Thinking Classroomsâ (BTC) today with the focus of TEAMWORK! Students had to work together as a team to build the tallest tower! School3MissBlake #TEAMWORK #BTC


Day 2 of âBuilding Thinking Classroomsâ (BTC) in Ms.Abreus 4th Grade Class Grade Math classes School 3 Belleville was a hit! Students focused on whiteboard expectations while building community to complete the 1-100 activity. School3MissBlake #WhiteboardExpectations #BuildingCommunity#BTC

School 3 Belleville students had amazing math conversations @ the vertical whiteboards while completely engaged with Peter Liljedahl BTCâs task: âThe Answers Are!â They didnât want their âthinkingâ to end! @School3MissBlake #BTC

Kindergarten students @S8_Belleville in Ms. Rodriguezâs Math class kicked off Day 1 of âBuilding Thinking Classroomsâ (BTC) w/ a focus of finding their whiteboard #âs. Students worked together on a task to draw 5 flowersâŠsome red & some blue. AMAZING discussions & strategies!



Day 3 BTC Launch w/ Ms. Rodriguezâs @S8_Belleville Kindergarten students. They continued to work on their collaboration skills. First, they listened to a story called âNot a Boxâ & then completed a task of turning their âboxâ into an object! They â€ïž BTC and said itâs âAMAZINGâ!


Day 4 BTC Launch w/ @S8_Belleville students. They listened to a story called, âHow Big is Your Brave?â & used their âPartner Powersâ to feel brave enough to share their ideas as they collaborated to solve the task of âNext Door Neighbors!â Lots of perseverance w/ this task!


Day 5 of BTC launch w/ @S8_Belleville students. Students listened to a story called âTen Black Dotsâ. Using manipulatives (math tools) was the focus to learn how it helps us learn math, but todayâs task focused on using a certain # of counters (dots) to recreate an object! #BTC


Ms. Rodriguezâs @S8_Belleville students continue to classify & count objects! They showed different strategies to classify creatures into categories of âon the groundâ & âNOT on the ground.â Extension: Draw 2 more creatures, classify & count the new # for each category.


Ms. Rodriguezâs @S8_Belleville students began to explore addition. They used the boards to show/write the # of flowers that were picked in all & to justify using counters & fingers. The extension for the early finishers was to justify using another way: cubes, drawings, etc!
