Nothing but absolute respect and appreciation for Peter Vermes and his time in KC. Covering his team for ~a decade taught me so much about the game and how to see/analyze it. The last few years… it is what it is, but the good times, they were unbelievable and unprecedented.

I get why #NWSL wants to be on CBS. But jamming this game into the CBS schedule during one of the hottest days of the year at 3:00PM was a choice. #KCBaby

I have a hard time understanding how Jessica Berman National Women’s Soccer League & KC Current could not have come to this decision before 11,500 people packed into a stadium and players warmed up when we have been in a heat advisory for days. Your CBS slot is not worth risking safety!

This is a really bad look for the NWSL. Extreme heat has been in the forecast for DAYS and fans have been stranded in 100+ degree heat for hours. Its unacceptable.

Oof — almost like the forecast was available all week. Were the teams, the league & CBS asleep at the wheel in planning for a pretty standard mid-August heat wave in Kansas City? (assuming we get to 95 three straight days at KCI!) Now, they’re even making it hard to tune in 🤷
