📇 Today, UNHCR teams were at Trik al Sikka and Zawiya Alnasser detention centres to continue the registration of newly arrived asylum-seekers. In 2019, UNHCR registered 12,419 asylum-seekers, 3,562 of them inside detention centres across the country.

UNHCR & WFP joint food distribution reached out today to 519 urban refugee families with food parcels to last for one month. In parallel, UNHCR registration team was present on site for registration certificates renewal and scheduling appointments at our offices.

Underfunding will not just cut programs; it'll harm the most vulnerable- refugee children. Children including unaccompanied minors, who have endured the harrowing experience of leaving home, will now face an even harsher reality in their countries of asylum due to underfunding.
