Before beginning bend 2 of the UTL Narrative Writing unit, 4th graders explored series books by reading many #Poppleton books by #CynthiaRylant. Next step? Compare/contrast books to learn how series authors develop characters, setting, and problems. #tcrwp Central School

While tutoring yesterday, we went through all of the student’s stop and jots while reading. Then we sorted them to determine what he’s already doing as a reader and what he can continue to think and jot about. Great way for students to see the process of goal setting. #tcrwp

Today was a “catch up” day in WW. The ML was basically asking “Who can find the chart that…?” And sending them off to write. Bonus? I conferred with so many writers! @TCRWP

4th grade students as teachers explaining what they’ve learned about their extreme weather research topics. Students learned to use an explaining voice and pointing finger to teach. Each teacher’s students took notes on what they were learning, too! They rocked it!! 👩🏻‍🎤🧑🏾‍🎤 #tcrwp
