This is not surprising in Liverpool. Sadly. Reform won 11.5% of the vote. That vote is built on racism and antagonising violence. Shame on the rats who have attacked, burnt down and been violent in our city last night. Stop pretending your racism is patriotism.

My view is that if you choose to use the moments after a spate of anti-immigrant riots and racist pogroms to crackdown on migrants and asylum-seekers - then you are fuelling the fire that the far-right is burning.
