Reasons governments lose by-elections? I’m sat on a publicly operated ScotRail Intercity train (a redecorated legacy piece) running between three of our major cities and I can’t get a WiFi connection to do my work as I travel. Productivity down. Economy hampered.

Young person working all hours God sends just to cover the rent, while paying record levels of tax? Want to ever have a hope of buying a house? Work harder. Over-65 enjoying the benefits of your private pension/dividends/property rent on your latest Mediterranean cruise? Great,

A year ago Network Rail hailed their £3.5m “access for all” improvements at Uddingston. Yet they’ve installed barriers everywhere meaning it takes me over a minute to walk from the closest accessible parking bay to lift. This is NOT accessible. How does this stuff get built?

Clyde breaks cover in Glasgow as mascot speculation hits fever pitch. The 2014 Games legend plays it cool, refusing to be drawn on his next move after ruling himself out of mascot contention. #Glasgow2026 #CommonwealthGames

People are more likely to support a transport policy if they think it’s already in place. Same policy➕Different framing 🟰 different reactions. That’s status quo bias—and it matters a lot for how we introduce change. We need experimentation! New study: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

It was a wonderful pleasure to welcome Ursula von der Leyen to Scotland last night and to discuss trade, energy, EU co-operation, Ukraine and the tragedy in Gaza. A very helpful opportunity to set out Scotland’s priorities and to hear the perspective of the EU leadership.

This is exactly the type of policy Glasgow SNP Group should be looking to deliver in Glasgow City Centre - focusing on Sauchiehall Street - to entice people and activity back to town.

John is right. The only electoral result which has resulted in Scotland’s people being able to vote on whether we should be an independent country was when they elected an SNP majority in 2011. This can be achieved again, and crucially, with less than 50% of votes cast.

The decision of the Israeli Government to seize control of Gaza City is completely and utterly unacceptable. It will create even more human suffering for the Palestinian people and further escalate the conflict. The international community must stop Israel and secure a ceasefire.

All of us want the best for Scotland. Today we set out the case for democracy – and over the coming months we’ll argue with all our strength for Scotland to choose independence, like Ireland, Denmark or Norway. Sign the declaration today: yes.scot/decide

for hiring anyone who remotely touches strategy you should prioritize people who actually get culture, society, & human nuance. strategy at its core is applied anthropology. if the person can’t decode vibes, trace behavior, & see how a tiktok dance, a local election, & a subway

I don’t object to the principle of a digital ID but if the government really wanted to end the “shadow economy” of undocumented and exploitative working they’d be proposing a cashless society first.

Get you in Town (bring your wellies). We can’t have an accessible, feminist, city when a small lochan forms at one our busiest crossings every time it rains…can we sort this please Cllr Ruairi Kelly
