A new type of venue for me! Excited to be pulled out of the lab to share what we’ve been doing in the clinic. I hope our ‘journey’ will not be interpreted as a battle cry to ‘don’t stop believing.’ Rather show there is real progress in how RT helps patients with pancreas cancer.

Excellent job Patricio Polanco and especially Lauren Dement! It was a great event. A new yearly tradition. No better than Mike Pishvaian to join us to see what we are incubating in one of the largest metroplexes to serve it and the rural areas beyond. UTSW Simmons Cancer Center UTSW Radiation Oncology

Are there other Purple Beam Teams representing Rad Onc? We have one and are sitting 3rd place in DFW! I’ll dye my hair purple if top 3. Feel free to suggest what I should do if we can overtake ‘Watch Me Whipple’ Patricio Polanco Lan Vu currently sitting #2. Great cause!

Proud of our team and program representation! Several years ago I started the beam team to spur friendly UTSW Simmons Cancer Center competition and spread awareness of the sig role RT can play in care for PDAC. Now…big teams! We get to walk with our pts and in memory of those lost. PanCANDFW

Great ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group meeting! Three exec approvals from amazing GI group with our Oligo Pancreatic Ca concept on way to GI steering. Got to see mentee A. ElAmir, MD, M.Sc. present ideas in GI PULSAR and colleague Prasanna Alluri MD PhD present intriguing translational aims at the Rad Onc committee.

Excited for this 👇. I try to do 40x1 as much as I can. Have had a CRC failure a few yrs later at that dose but control is great. A good question for a relatively small phase III. Nice doing these on MRL.

Minda Hill, manager of our pancreas program, presented her capstone for the UT Southwestern News Aspiring Leaders Program! Her approach is servant leadership, she shared how we are developing a interdisciplinary pancreas cancer clinic. Her work with the patient advisory team is inspiring.

Thx for sharing Anirban Maitra! If ablative radiotherapy improved pCR would survival improve? Would we need surgery if true? Something to ponder since RTOG0848 suggests those who may have survival impacted by adjuvant radiotherapy are LN-. Karyn Goodman, MD, MS Albert Koong, MD PhD Herbert Zeh
