A few weeks ago, I had the highlight of meeting CMSgt (Ret) Robert Williamson during my visit to NASIC. CMSgt Williamson was the Senior Enlisted Advisor of Air Force Systems Command (AFSC) in 1984. (1)

And what tickled me most during this chance encounter in the hallway at NASIC, was that he shared with me how he didn’t recall ever seeing women above the rank of SSgt, let alone as a Chief. (2)

We both stood in awe of each other. My deep respect and admiration of an Airman who has continued working and serving after all these years. Chief Williamson is a pillar in history at Wright-Patt and in our Air Force. He is a man of character…and character matters. (3)

I couldn’t come to Offutt without stopping in and seeing CMSAF #6, James McCoy. He is a true legend and great American Airman, and it was an absolute honor spending a few moments with him and Ms. Kathy. Heritage matters, folks…and CMSAF McCoy IS our heritage.

Was notified last night, that my little brother, Dylan Merola, who was just deployed for over a week, was one of the casualties of the Kabul Airport attack. The news is starting to release his name as the 14th military member to pass away. RIP and say hey to dad & grandma for me

Flag-draped transfer cases line the inside of a C-17 Globemaster II Aug. 29, 2021, prior to a dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. The fallen service members died while supporting non-combat operations in Kabul. Gone, but never forgotten.

I hope this article starts some conversations in the military, particularly in INSCOM and JSOC about how to get help for personnel who serve in a clandestine manner. Going to talk a bit about how and why I wrote this story below. news.yahoo.com/an-army-clande…
