The differentiable cutting simulator DiSECt is now open-source! Code and instructions are at github.com/NVlabs/DiSECt. We also release a dataset of force profiles, meshes, and node motions from high-quality Ansys LS-DYNA simulations (see links in the readme).

My #procedural wall toy now has arches & sorta-paths 🚀 That was trickier to setup than I had anticipated 😅 But hey, gotta get that sweet XP in the compute shader skill tree 🧙‍♀️ #rustlang 🦀 #opengl #screenshotsaturday

So I had this idea for an improvement to the way I render lines in Mars First Logistics. I've had a lot of people ask about how that works, so here's a (somewhat technical) thread about it and the improvement I recently made.

Do you know PEEL's PhysX edition ? This is scene 113 featuring a controllable Lego Technic Buggy made of rigid bodies and regular joints (no articulations). You can hide any of the parts to see the simulated mechanism underneath. Physics + Lego = 😍 github.com/Pierre-Terdima…

We're excited to present a new method to render Signed Distance Functions (SDFs) in a differentiable manner, enabling high-fidelity image-based shape reconstruction. This is joint work with Delio Vicini and Sebastien Speierer and will be presented at SIGGRAPH'22. (1/8)

Speaking of meshes, PhysX 5 supports mesh-vs-mesh interactions via SDFs (a GPU-only feature for now). The emerging motion in the following test is entirely driven by collisions/contacts (not e.g. by a dedicated joint).
