Earlier today, Members of the National Assembly Of The Republic of The Gambia voted down all the clauses of the Women’s (Amendment) Bill 2024, prompting the Speaker of the Assembly to declare the Bill as “rejected, and negatived”. This means that the #FGM ban remains in force in The #Gambia!

For the Gambia our homeland. Parliament has REJECTED the Bill. This is a reminder for all parties to be reinstated to their original position as FGM remains criminalised in The Gambia. We do not want to hear about it AGAIN! #EndFGM220
