I do not understand why people bring their kids on an international trip and bring their screens along. I’m all for an iPad on the plane. But at Greek ruins, even on the bus to the ruins, Jesus just let your kid touch the grass you’ve gone to a lot of effort to bring them to.

Just Another Bear How do you accommodate for students who enter Kindergarten on a 2nd grade level for reading and/or math? What does a typical day look like? What if a student is on a 5th grade math level but 3rd grade reading level? How much time is spent outdoors and/or on unstructured

Yes, reading whole books matters, and no, there are no "miracles" in education. But there can be dramatic progress if instruction aligns with cognitive science--or maybe even if kids just read whole books. More in my latest post: nataliewexler.substack.com/p/reading-whol…

Dear all 32 NFL teams: Will one of you, any of you, please make Jameis Winston a starter next season. He’s too good and too entertaining not to be a QB1 somewhere. We fans deserve to see him play more than a few times each year. Sincerely, - NFL Football Fans Everywhere 💯

Student: "Can I go to the bathroom?" Me: No. You go to the bathroom every single time we have class, specifically when we need to write. Student: "But I have ADHD!" Me: Were you actually diagnosed, by a real medical professional...? Student: "No... but! Me: Look, you

🚨Teach real math & teach it well. That’s the key to engagement. Projects and gimmicks can look appealing, but without purposeful practice they don’t build competence. Competence is what makes students like math. We like stuff when we're good at it. Watch the clip 🔽

Growing numbers of children are starting school unable to grip a pencil, hold a knife and fork, go to the toilet, or even recognise their own name. A culture of extreme tolerance is creating a range of unforeseen problems. My latest for UnHerd: unherd.com/newsroom/gentl…

2025 was the lowest murder rate since 1900. 1900! Thanks to President Trump and police being able to do their jobs. In Washington, DC, the murder rate dropped 40% in one year! It’s incredible & should be the top story in the country.
