Further to my post, someone sent me this page of the "Requests made pursuant to Article 12 to add Institutions to the Settlement Agreement" document. It includes the residential school my father attended but, like way too many other schools, was not included in the settlement.

COMMUNITY ACCEPTANCE is one of the most important criteria established by and FOR First Nations, Inuit and Métis and confirmed by the Canadian Constitution. Are we seing pressure for the definition to be amended to add ACCEPTANCE by AUTHORITIES SET UP under the Indian Act?

A MASSIVE victory for the Wolastoqey Nation’s Aboriginal title claim. A precedent setting decision confirming that Aboriginal title can issue over privately held land. I was honoured to work on this for the Wolastoqey, along with my incredible team oktlaw. 🪶 #LandBack

Women must not feel required to make themselves smaller for the sake of propriety when those expectations harm not only themselves but community as well.

This #HumanRightsDay CAP National Chief Moore participated in the European Union’s Human Rights Day Roundtable, in the Indigenous Perspectives panel. He spoke about the importance of implementing #UNDRIP in Canada, and recognizing the rights of CAP’s communities.

Sheshatshiu & Mushuau Innu First Nations were only recognized in 2002 & Miawpukek Mi'kmaq First Nation was only recognized in 1987. Of all 4 of Newfoundland mainland First Nations, only Qalipu First Nation members get called out as Pretendians. Can anyone explain?

Trudeau is finished - a PM who only helped people when forced to by the NDP. But we know Poilievre will be a disaster. We can't let that happen. It's clear from his interview with hatemonger Jordan Peterson, he won't be hiding his far-right anti-worker agenda.

A gentle reminder: you can believe that someone was not an effective leader and also believe the other options available aren’t better. Trudeau has his faults. My criticism is well documented. But the prospect of PP in the PM role is concerning especially for marginalized folx.
