Further to my post, someone sent me this page of the "Requests made pursuant to Article 12 to add Institutions to the Settlement Agreement" document. It includes the residential school my father attended but, like way too many other schools, was not included in the settlement.

COMMUNITY ACCEPTANCE is one of the most important criteria established by and FOR First Nations, Inuit and Métis and confirmed by the Canadian Constitution. Are we seing pressure for the definition to be amended to add ACCEPTANCE by AUTHORITIES SET UP under the Indian Act?

A gentle reminder: you can believe that someone was not an effective leader and also believe the other options available aren’t better. Trudeau has his faults. My criticism is well documented. But the prospect of PP in the PM role is concerning especially for marginalized folx.
