A major incident has been declared in South Wales after a freight train carrying diesel derailed and burst into flames. Hundreds of people in Llangennech were forced to leave their homes. Police say the two workers on the train are unhurt.

The fire involving a freight train in Llangennech has been extinguished. Primacy for the scene was handed over to British Transport Police and Network Rail at 08:30am this morning, Friday 28th August 2020.

Today, 65P1 was mobilised to an animal rescue. On arrival, crews found a large, Shire Horse named Barney, that had fallen awkwardly and was in some discomfort. After 3 hours, we managed to get Barney back on his feet on trotting around again! Great work by all involved!👏🏻🚒

On Thursday, June 15, the Abercrave, Seven Sisters, Pontardawe, Ammanford, Tumble, Brecon, Neath and Amman Valley crews were called to a forestry fire incident Abercrave. Crews worked tirelessly in difficult conditions to bring a well-developed and dangerous fire under control.
