Yesterday I did a short CPD session to show staff at JQA how #openai #OpenAIChatGPT #ChatGPT can be a #workload wonder for model answers, quizzing and even assessment. Thanks to everyone who got in touch - I can’t keep up with the DMs so I’ve shared at tinyurl.com/chatgptpres 👍

A reminder to ‘disappointed’ Gillian Keegan of how much Tory ministers care about education. 6 of you in 18 months 5 of you in the last year 3 in 3 days in July last year! You do it because you have to, or as a stepping stone to stay loyal. Teachers do it because they care.👍

Changing ratios will make zero difference to the cost of early education, it will just worsen the retention crisis, damage quality and risk making provision less safe. Sir Jeremy Hunt MP #EYFS #PVI

The more I see the impact of music on young people, the more it’s undeniably apparent that we need more music in our schools. Not just for their learning, or their health and wellbeing, or their sense of belonging, but for the impact it has on the future of the world around us.

A rejig in the department whilst I’ll be on maternity means there’s a vacancy for a full time music teacher In my fantastic department. Pass on to any music teachers looking for a role in a busy department with lots of autonomy! holyheadschool.org.uk/recruitment/te…

Putting my head above the parapet here… Having an orchestra is not an arbiter of whether a state school has good music provision.

I would never disregard my ability to read the staff. It's an incredibly important skill to learn for any musician. BUT There's one thing, other than more reading, that will help a person be a better staff reader (if that's your goal), and it's learning by ear. #musiced

Secured £20,000 worth of funding for the music department (thank you Stuart Birnie for the heads up with this!!) and received an award from our local care home for community work.. not a bad way to end the year and start maternity leave! 😃

Describing the arts as an outlet for ‘less academic students’ is patronising. Suggesting disadvantaged children can’t handle academic rigour is even worse! EVERY child deserves a well taught, ambitious curriculum that improves their life chances. This is just low expectations!
