Not bashing streaks. They are fun and a good way to see friends in real time. My problem is when it becomes the only source of connection. It cannot be. Streaks should be secondary. You still need calls, FaceTime & hanging out. It cannot be the main form of feeling connected.

When you get to know people, you understand why they are the way they are.

Day before periods :

AFRIFF was supposed to be Angel in the Stone’s final festival run. We’ve screened at over 20 film festivals (locally and internationally), and none of them ever gave us any issues. I was really hoping we’d wrap things up on a good note, but AFRIFF had other plans.

From waiting five hours to screen an 11-minute film, to the film being shown with poor picture quality and no sound for the first five minutes. It was so disappointing and annoying! AFRIFF really needs to do better! Or just stop accepting short films altogether.

So many streaming platforms but not much to watch.

I always go back to how Margot Robbie and Lupita broke through the same year. In the next 5 years Lupita had one lead and 3 supporting roles where you couldn't see her face. Margot got 5 leads, including one franchise. Lupita had won the Oscar, but Margot hadn't even been nommed.
