Really liked the latest Tanishq ad. How we associate relocation after marriage and having to learn the names of an extended family with women?! What I particularly liked is the showcase of Indian brides in their full glory; you can choose to do it your way! ❤️

There are TTAS sessions where we have had 10 young people, and times, like yesterday, when we have hosted 50 young minds. When the vision is so long-term (even beyond our lifetimes), the 'numbers' don't matter. 😍 The impact takes centre stage. With Snehal Kadam and Talk To A Scientist.

Watching IC 814: Kandahar. Mixed emotions and thoughts. 🇮🇳🙏 A colossal intelligence failure? Are we a 'soft' state? Nearly 200 Indian lives and the worlds' largest democracy dangling mid-air.

Ten years of living out of India and I promised myself one thing on our return: 🇮🇳 I will never leave the opportunity to dress up 🥻 for our festivals. I missed it too much! ❤️🙏 So as we head into the festival season, a heads up! 😃😅

YIM 2025 will be in Agra from 3-7 March 2025! 🌹 We look forward to hosting a suite of exceptional young investigators and postdoctoral fellows for 5 days of science, networking and discussions. Applications are open! Wah-Taj!🕌

Academic administrators should be full-time positions, and should not be faculty dividing time between the role and their research groups. We need to think of science administration as a career path, and not a 'feather in the cap'. Let's debate! 😅👇 Manu Awasthi Ragothaman Yennamalli

I dislike being micromanaged and I am not a micromanager. But veering too far at the other end - where you expect a great deal of independent work - may not work for all. I trace my style to my PhD years where I thrived with independence. Insights from WomenLift Health. 📰

At the learning touchpoint today we analysed our influence as leaders and even practised influence styles (on each other!) we would like to cultivate. A one-of-a-kind leadership program that is WomenLift Health. 👩🩺🧪 To apply for the 2025 cohort: womenlifthealth.org/india-leadersh…

There is huge reluctance to accept performance-driven leadership from women. Women leaders (who make it with sheer grit and tenacity) are suddenly expected to switch gears towards 'soft' leadership. When you hire women expect them to lead programs like any leader would. 👩

After a cocooned PhD and teaching faculty role, I struggled to find my feet as early-career faculty ('my first big girl job'). After learning to handle numerous and varied situations as a leader, I think I can say 'I have grown into my first big, big girl job.😅😍🙏

For postdocs looking to return to India: If the institute does not have the equipment / infrastructure you will need for your research, then plan for ~2-3 years to order and set it up. Buying large equipment in science in India is no 'plug and play' model, so plan for this. 🧪

One of the 'inner joy' moments of the job is seeing young Indian women in science acing their roles. When I get to witness their assertion, confidence, self-belief and clear intent I find myself smiling broadly within. 😍👩‍🔬🔬🧪👩‍🎓

That feeling when you have taken on a work project that is *just* outside your comfort zone is absolutely thrilling! 😍 It is tantalising almost to be in that sweet space where you know it will stretch you but you also know can do it. 📚💻
