Evening visit to Kelly Hall Tarn last night. Second stab at this composition but with better light and sky this time round.

Something I’ve never done yet, abstract sand patterns. Messing around with the I-phone on a walk with Goose this afternoon.

Up n out first thing this morning. Good reflection conditions but the sky was featureless. Met a photographer who’d driven up from London last night, arrived at Blea Tarn at 2am and kipped in his car….dedicated.

Rydal this morning. I’ve tried to capture the day in one shot. Warm and humid but the mist descended around 8:00am and gave a little atmosphere over the water.

No apologies but there will be a shit load of wildlife images getting posted and a few landscapes. Starting here with one of the highlights of the whole trip, a lioness defending her cubs. Hope I caught the drama of her fight to keep her cubs alive.

The story. Lioness with cubs, male enters the scene as she moves on. He tracks her and waits. She breaks from cover and he runs. She’s not having that and stands up to him. The fight. Life & death faced daily by all including the apex predators. Mother protecting her cubs.

Elephants today. A conservation success, they were abundant in all the parks we visited, so much so they are now causing problems in Botswana. Gentle giants.

Today may I introduce you to the Rhino. These are White Rhino and we’re dozing in the shade. The park authorities are working hard to protect them against poachers. Thanks to ZW for the opportunity to get so close to these amazing animals.

I seem to be spending a lot of time down South Walney lately so yesterday I took the camera and 400mm lens. Think I’ll stick to landscape photography, these buggers move to fast for me 🤣
