If you see me quickly glance back while I am walking down the street it’s because I am checking to see if the coast is clear to fart out loud

What’s really worth noting is that $17 million is the amount of money Eric Adams cut from re-entry programs for people at Rikers, only for New Yorkers have to shell out the exact same amount of money to pay for NYPD’s misconduct settlements.

Despicable--but not surprising--to see the NYPD weaponize the death of one of their own to lie that bail reform is to blame. The alleged shooter *had bail set* in the high amount of $75,000. Had nothing whatsoever to do with bail reform, which only affects low level offenses.

Few ppl know that Rikers is a PRE-TRIAL detention center. The ppl there have not been convicted of a crime, they’re awaiting trial, and they’re DYING waiting. Our mayor Eric Adams doesn’t care about them but I’d like you to hear from a mother mourning her son at a rally we held

Cleveland Plain Dealer editorial: The facts are in. Choice is a myth. Most of the hundreds of millions of tax dollars for private school vouchers are for students already attending private schools.

As far as I can tell, vouchers aren't nearly enough to cover the cost of a private school.

It's a subsidy for people who already send their kids to private schools.

It provides no meaningful choice to people in truly bad school districts.

Eric Adams continues to tell New Yorkers that this is the safest big city while simultaneously fear mongering about crime, and here’s the proof:

Right: Crystal Mason—a Black woman who filed a provisional ballot on advice of a poll worker—and her vote never counted
•5 years prison

This is America.

Yeah, the fact that so many people are complaining Sam Bankman-Fried got 'only 25 years' is a glaring indictment on how addicted we are to insanely long prison sentences.

What he did was bad. And he's paying for it, because 25 years is a long ass time to be behind bars.
