I couldn’t agree any more strongly. More frightening than the virus is our Dept. of Agriculture ability to detect, respond, manage a widespread outbreak in the food chain nor detect spillover to others.
I think citizen science is getting ahead of govt science at this point. Similar to 2020.

Today, WHO/Europe's Gundo Weiler and WHO team led by Jarno Habicht visited Sumy. We saw the critical work at two WHO-built modular health facilities — lifelines for over 120,000 locals amid challenges of war and grave security concerns.
