I love this thread from top-notch writer of picture books Fiona Barker It's so true! If you want to see your work published then the biggest thing to tell yourself is to just keep going. Also - please look at Fi's book, absolute gorgeousness and more on the way!!

Amazing opportunity for an author visit from a superstar of picture books - especially if you are from around the Black Country.

Absolutely agree with every single point in this blog. Well worth reading if you were either at Harrogate this year, or perhaps you weren't and tried avoiding all the SM posts. Also, do look at Charlotte Duckworth / Rixon | Author 's other blog posts. So much honesty and sense!

Libraries really matter - to readers and to writers & as a hub of the community. Somewhere for people to go, young parents, the elderly, lonely folk, anyone who uses libraries not just as a great place to discover and borrow books but also as a social necessity. Boldwood Books

Fan-blooming-tastic!!! I've already read (both consumed and been consumed by) this incredible book - the audio is our holiday car soundtrack so I can hear it in all its glory and show my husband why I keep raving about it!

One lucky lady!! I can't wait to read this. Look out soon for the second book by fabulous Alex Hay and if you haven't already read his debut #TheHousekeepers then it's time to rectify that terrible mistake!

Brilliant to see 'A Proper Mother' by Isobel Shirlaw featured in this month's Caversham Bridge paper. It's a wonderfully rich and clever story that made me wonder what I actually knew right until the last paragraph. I don't often use the cliche but this one really is #gripping
