Does your child need to take medicine both at home & at school? Ask the pharmacist to fill the prescription into two medicine bottles, each with its own label - one for home & one for school. Help keep everyone safe by following the school's medicine policy. #PreventPoison

Lunch Safety 101: If the lunch contains perishable food items, such as deli meats, eggs, cheese or yogurt, make it with at least 2 cold sources. Frozen juice boxes or water can be used as freezer packs. By lunchtime, the liquids should be thawed & ready to drink. #PreventPoison

Many moms need to take meds during breastfeeding. Although many meds are safe to use, most will get into your milk to some degree & may even affect your supply. Check with your child's doctor before taking any meds, even OTC meds. Questions? Call #PoisonHelp, 1-800-222-1222.

Leftover breast milk can still be used within 2 hours after the baby is finished feeding. After 2 hours, excess breast milk should be thrown away. Consider storing, thawing & warming milk in smaller amounts to avoid wasting. More info: ow.ly/EeC350PF9S6. #PreventPoison

When making a bottle, mix only enough formula for one feeding. Use a clean bottle every time. Don’t add new formula to a half-filled bottle. After feeding baby, throw out any formula or breast milk that is left over. #PreventPoison #BSM2024 #NFSEM2024

Don't feed a baby directly from a jar of food. Use a clean spoon to take out a portion of food & place it in a clean bowl. Heat only the portion of food removed from the jar. Label the jar with the date it was opened & refrigerate unserved portions. #PreventPoison #BSM2024

Creating a supportive environment at home is crucial in reducing the risk of suicide. Limiting access to means of harm is a significant step. While impossible to eliminate all risks, some measures can improve safety at home. #PreventPoison #SuicidePrevention
