In-person learning is essential to the overall well-being and development of children and youth. I am happy to see that students will be returning to in-person learning on January 10 with measures in place to keep students and teachers safe.

I am thrilled to see that the Government of Alberta is launching an accelerated immigration pathway for workers in the tech sector. By attracting highly-skilled tech professionals to Alberta, we can strengthen our workforce, support investment, and diversify our economy.

After receiving feedback from Albertans and education planners, our government is adjusting the implementation timelines for the new K-6 curriculum. The Curriculum Implementation Advisory group will help determine how to successfully implement the new curriculum in September.

Immunocompromised Albertans are now eligible for a fourth dose. Vaccines continue to be our best tool in preventing severe outcomes, and evidence has shown that immunocompromised individuals benefit from a fourth dose.

We will continue to provide Albertans with multiple ways to share their feedback on the K-6 curriculum. I want to invite everyone to be part of the new virtual engagement sessions between January 31 and February 28.

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we come together to remember the millions of innocent lives lost in the Holocaust. On this day of somber remembrance, we recommit to always standing strong against anti-Semitism and any other form of hatred and discrimination.

I am happy to share the news that Alberta’s registered nurses have voted to accept a four-year agreement that ensures the stability of our healthcare system and ensures that our registered nurses receive fair compensation for the crucial work they do.
